So far, the Superbet Rapid&Blitz Poland leg of the Grand Chess Tour has brought us 9 rounds of chess entertainment. The 10 magicians fought for every point, and surprise results were present in every round of play.

The first round of the second day of competition gave chess enthusiasts five tied results, but Duda broke the ice in round number 5 against his compatriot Wojtaszek.

Duda didn’t let himself down in the round played against Kirill Shevchenko either, managing to find an excellent tactic to get the win against the Romanian representative.

Day 3 began with Grandmaster Maxime Vachier-Lagrave’s victory over Wesley So. The American chess player did his best to lead the match to a draw, but Vachier-Lagrave gave him no chance of a draw.

Grand champion Magnus Carlsen scored his first win of the tournament in his match against Bogdan Deac. The Romanian player lost the advantage after a series of poor moves, leaving the Norwegian champion the opportunity to advance. The good day continued for the most expected chess player of this tournament. Magnus made it two straight wins with the black pieces following his match with Kirill Shevchenko.

Day 4 was Blitz day for the chess wizards in this year’s tournament. We had a spectacular start to the first round of the Blitz tournament. Kirill Shevchenko prevailed over our countryman Bogdan Deac, and Magnus Carlsen managed to get the win over the French grandmaster MVL.

Richard Rapport and Anish Giri gave Duda and Aronian no chance, managing to climb to the top of the leaderboard in the first round.
