A dream come true for Ivano Močić

In the first month of 2023, the Superbet Foundation made one of young chess player Ivano Mocic’s biggest dreams come true. With our financial support, Ivano was able to participate in a chess competition for the first time, with his debut being at the Seville tournament.

Despite being relatively new to the sport, Ivano won five out of nine matches played, including two against more experienced players from Kazakhstan. He participated in the category for players under 1700 elo and achieved the top position in the ranking after an impressive series of victories. His passion for chess and countless hours of practice were evident in his game, and one of the clubs in the host city even offered him a chance to play for them in the Spanish chess championship.

In January of this year, Ivano broke the 1800 elo mark for the first time while participating in a major chess tournament in Croatia. This achievement has opened doors for him to compete in tournaments for players with higher elo ratings.

Currently, Ivano is benefiting from the support and guidance of a grandmaster and is preparing intensively for upcoming challenges.
