Three Super Clubs from Ekstraklasa, Superbet, and CANAL+ played together with WOŚP!

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity once again united hearts – including those in the sports world. Three Ekstraklasa clubs sponsored by Superbet, proudly displaying the logo on the front of their jerseys, joined this year’s WOŚP finale together with the official match broadcaster, CANAL+, preparing a unique attraction for fans. Up for auction was the unique opportunity to experience a match from the “television backstage.” Auction winners could see what is usually inaccessible to fans – enter the broadcast van, tour the technical facilities, meet the commentators, and see how top-level sports broadcasts are produced behind the scenes.

This joint effort by Superbet, the clubs, and CANAL+ is proof that sports have the power to unite people – even for a noble cause. We thank everyone who joined the action and supported WOŚP. We play together until the end of the world and one day longer!

Doctors didn’t believe in him. The indomitable chess player won the hearts of fans in Warsaw

The organizers of the largest chess tournament in Poland donated all ticket proceeds to an exceptional warrior of the chess world. Łukasz Nowak, who participated in the closing ceremony of the Superbet Rapid & Blitz 2025, is an international chess master who, despite his disability, competes effectively with able-bodied players using only eye movements!

The entire proceeds from ticket sales during the Superbet Rapid & Blitz 2025 tournament will be donated to the exceptional chess player – Łukasz Nowak. Fighting physical limitations every day, he has been an international master since 2023, and in 2020 he won a gold medal at the Chess Olympiad for people with disabilities with his team.

“I like chess because it allows me to be no different from my opponent. I can play with anyone. I absolutely love it because I am no different from able-bodied players, I play as an equal with everyone, regardless of my illness. It’s competition, there are surprising situations that need to be solved. Often it seems that there is no way out, but you can find the right solution and get out of trouble. They teach humility, calmness. They show that you should never give up” – Nowak emphasized in an interview with Tomasz Zimoch for “Angora”. The interview was conducted several years ago when Łukasz was able to speak. Unfortunately, his health has deteriorated and he now communicates with his surroundings only through eye movements. Similarly, thanks to specialized technology, he plays chess. A few months after birth, Łukasz was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy. Currently, he is unable to make practically any movement and needs support in performing ordinary, everyday activities. Our international master learned to play chess at the age of seven, introduced to the secrets of the sport by his grandfather. He now plays at a level that most can only dream of. Thanks to significant progress made over the past two years, the latest July FIDE ranking list shows the Pole’s ranking at 2336 points.

The 27-year-old is well known throughout the chess community, for many he is an inspiration and proof that nothing is impossible. Above all, he has won many trophies, and for the past two years he has been an international master. He is the winner of the Hetman award in the Player of the Year 2020 category, won a bronze medal at the World Individual Chess Championship for the Disabled (Prague 2018), and has 4 gold medals at the Polish Individual Chess Championships for the Disabled. In 2020, Łukasz – along with his team – won gold at the Chess Olympiad for the Disabled.

– I took to heart the sentence spoken by the former pastor of my parish: “Life is beautiful, you just have to live it beautifully” – said Łukasz. – I try to act in such a way as to live my days beautifully. Every day lived is my success. Every day gives me great joy because I can play chess.

During the entire Superbet Rapid & Blitz 2025 tournament, brick tickets were sold, from which the decision of the Superbet Foundation, the organizer of the Grand Chess Tour series tournament, the entire proceeds will be donated to Łukasz and his family.

– Łukasz Nowak’s story touched our hearts. As Superbet, we often support various noble initiatives around sports. We thought for a long time about what to allocate this year’s funds obtained from tickets, during the previous edition they supported the Polish Paralympic Committee Foundation in the Olympic year, helping disabled athletes fulfill their dreams. When we heard about the chess master who fights every day to fulfill his sports dreams, we had no doubts that we wanted to support him. This story contains everything that is most beautiful not only in chess but in sports in general: facing adversity, extraordinary passion and the successes that follow, as well as the recognition of fans and rivals. We are proud that by co-organizing the largest chess tournament in Poland, we can also support such a warrior – emphasized Łukasz Seweryniak, general manager of Superbet Polska.

Stars raised 100,000 PLN for WOŚP

Five goals, an exciting high-level spectacle, Mazur Radzymin’s 3:2 victory over Tajfun Ostrów Lubelski, and an extraordinary penalty shootout in which Tajfun’s playing president, Mata, outperformed his rap scene buddy, Quebonafide, who played for Mazur. The most important aspect of the event was supporting the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP), for which 100,000 PLN was raised, thanks in part to a generous donation of 30,000 PLN from the main partner, bookmaker Superbet.

Fans of Mata, Quebo, and good football certainly did not regret spending their Sunday afternoon watching the Mazur vs. Tajfun match broadcast on the Meczyki YouTube channel. The match was marked by balanced competition, with Tajfun dominating the first half and Mazur playing better after the break. For the team from Ostrów Lubelski, Damian Maleszyk scored twice, while Bartłomiej Balcer, Maciej Roguski, and Arkadiusz Pisarek scored for Mazur. Maleszyk was close to a spectacular hat-trick, but his beautiful shoot kick hit the crossbar.

Both Quebonafide and Mata played well and were visible on the field. Quebo tore through the defensive lines on the wing, cooperating well with Krzy Krzysztof, who played alongside him. He constantly caused nervousness in the opponents’ defense with his dynamic runs. Mata, on the other hand, started the match as a forward but dropped deeper during the game to create more space for Maleszyk. He showed a deep understanding of the playmaker/withdrawn forward position, controlling the tempo of the action and providing accurate passes to his teammates. Both also supported the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity with their donations. Summing up the funds from Superbet, the artists themselves, and fans who generously contributed to the virtual collection during the Meczyki broadcast, the total amount raised exceeded a round 100,000 PLN!

Support for the House of Guardian Angels

The great show was put on not only by the players in the hall but also by the fans of the Spodek Super Cup football tournament. Thanks to their involvement, they raised as much as ten thousand zlotys for the Katowice-based foundation Dom Aniołów Stróżów, which supports young people at life’s crossroads. In the special Superbet zone, they could test themselves on an innovative, modern device measuring strength – a futuristic version of the popular “boxer.”

Superbet challenged them and committed to donating 10,000 zlotys to charity for at least 100 sufficiently strong punches. This goal was quickly achieved, and the strongest football fans also boosted their wallets – the top three shared six thousand zlotys.

“We are very pleased to support such a well-deserved organization for the local community as Dom Aniołów Stróżów in Silesia once again. The foundation of good fun was doing good together, and it worked out great at Spodek. Moreover, our Super Power Cube zone was not the only attraction, just mention the closing concert of Paktofonika or our Supergame: Spodek challenge, where one of the fans won 5,000 zlotys for kicking the ball into the goal from the other end of the field without the ball touching the ground. You could say we rewarded not only muscle strength but also football precision. Above all, we had a great time in this football family and can’t wait for next year’s edition,” emphasizes Katarzyna Gawlik, marketing director of Superbet Polska.

Fans and players together in Spodek chased away the football winter, giving a taste of exciting spring on our fields. Despite the friendly nature of the event, the extremely high sporting and organizational level deserves to be highlighted. “We are impressed and happy to be part of such events. We certainly haven’t said the last word in this regard,” adds a representative of the Superbet brand, which is the main sponsor of both Górnik Zabrze and GKS Katowice, and also supports clubs such as ROW Rybnik, Wisłoka Dębica, and many others across Poland as part of the Superregio project.

Give yourself a gift this Christmas and save a life

Each of us can become a hero and save someone’s life. It’s very simple, it only requires dedicating a few minutes of your time and a little bit of blood. Nothing more. Representatives of FOGO Futsal Ekstraklasa and bookmaker Superbet know this very well, and from December 16-19, they will be supporting a blood donation campaign at the RCKiK branches in Łódź and Katowice.

“Any of us could find ourselves in a situation where either we or someone close to us needs blood to continue living. When we think about it this way, it’s easier to find the motivation to visit the Blood Donation Center. We, as Superbet, are well aware of the importance of promoting health initiatives, which is why we gladly accepted FOGO Futsal Ekstraklasa’s invitation to support blood donors. This is the first such large-scale social campaign in cooperation with the country’s top futsal league, but I can already reveal that it will certainly not be the last,” says Łukasz Seweryniak, General Manager of Superbet Poland.

Although the mere possibility of saving a life should be enough of an incentive to donate blood, the heads of FOGO Futsal Ekstraklasa and Superbet assure that everyone who visits the regional branches in Łódź and Katowice from December 16-19 will be greeted with surprises. “December is undoubtedly a time for gifts, and we have prepared a small one for blood donors as well,” says Seweryniak.

However, the campaign is not limited to giving gifts to donors. Throughout the week, FOGO Futsal Ekstraklasa and the clubs will conduct an informational campaign on their social media, promoting blood donation.

“Futsal is not only about sport and competition at the highest level, but also about responsibility for our surroundings and supporting important social initiatives. The blood donation campaign, which we are carrying out together with Superbet, is an expression of our community’s solidarity with those in need. Blood is a gift that cannot be manufactured, which is why every drop counts. The campaign is also accompanied by a week of knowledge, during which we present facts and dispel myths related to blood donation. We believe that education will help break down barriers and encourage even more people to participate,” comments Paweł Mrozkowiak, president of FOGO Futsal Ekstraklasa.

“We are proud to support such an important social initiative. We hope that our involvement will translate into attendance at blood donation centers and that together we will be able to save someone’s life. We couldn’t dream of a better Christmas gift,” concludes the General Manager of Superbet Poland.

Incredible Success of an 18-Year-Old chess player from India

India’s representative, Gukesh Dommaraju, has become the eighteenth world chess champion. The youngest world champion in the history of the royal game competed in a tournament in Warsaw in May. “I really like it here and would love to come back,” he said after the Superbet Rapid & Blitz 2024 competition.

The World Championship match took place in Singapore, and for the first time in history, two Asian chess players competed for the title without a European representative. The 18-year-old Indian defeated the defending champion, China’s Ding Liren, in the 14th round, winning 7.5:6.5. Thus, he became the youngest world chess champion in history.

At the press conference after the final round, the new world champion was visibly moved. “When Magnus Carlsen won the world title in 2013, I thought I wanted to be the chess player who would bring this title back to India. I am very happy,” he said.

It is worth noting that Gukesh Dommaraju’s coach is Polish grandmaster Grzegorz Gajewski, who previously worked with former world champion Viswanathan Anand. During the press conference in Singapore, the new champion also thanked his other coaches and sparring partners, including Polish chess players Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Radosław Wojtaszek, and Jan Klimkowski.

Gukesh is another outstanding chess player from Chennai, formerly known as Madras, the same city where Anand, the most famous Indian chess player to date, grew up. This city is probably the most chess-centric in the world, with over thirty grandmasters hailing from there. The new world champion’s father is a surgeon, and his mother is a virologist. Years ago, they sold a large part of their property to support their son’s chess career. Gukesh first sat at the chessboard at the age of seven. It took him eleven years to reach the top, but he also had many successes along the way – in 2018, he became the world champion under 12, and in 2020 under 14. He has been a grandmaster since 2019, becoming the second youngest grandmaster in chess history at that time.

Will Gukesh meet Polish fans in Warsaw? It cannot be ruled out, as he was enchanted by Poland and the organization of the tournament after the last event, as emphasized by his coach. “The Superbet Rapid & Blitz tournament is an excellent promotion of chess in Poland. It’s great that such excellent players can play here. I’m glad we were here, especially since I noticed that Gukesh is handling the growing interest in him and everything happening around him better and better,” said Gajewski. “Of course, he has talent, but everyone at this level does. He is very ambitious, hardworking, and focused on his goal. When you are seventeen or eighteen, it is not easy at all. He just wants to be the best,” added the coach.

It is already known that the world’s top chess players will come to Warsaw in 2025 as well. Next year’s edition of the Superbet Rapid & Blitz Warsaw 2025 is scheduled for April 26-30, and the top grandmasters will once again compete at the Polin Center. The full lineup will be announced in the coming months. In recent editions, almost all of the world’s top chess players have participated, including the recent champion Magnus Carlsen.

Pink Polish Autumn

Golden Polish autumn in October shows its most beautiful, most colorful face. To all the colors that nature delights us with, we can calmly add one more – pink. Because October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the entire campaign associated with it is called Pink October. Superbet joined the campaign and donated 6000 złoty to the  Eye to Eye with Cancer Foundation (Fundacja Oko w Oko z Rakiem).

‘We are pleased that we managed to engage the entire Superbet community. We are convinced that thanks to this, we reached a large group of people and persuaded at least some of them to get tested,’ says Katarzyna Gawlik, Marketing Director of Superbet Polska.

Indeed, the reach of the campaign was spectacular. All partner clubs were involved in the communication – GKS Katowice, GKS Tychy, Górnik Zabrze, Lech Poznań, and Wisła Kraków, representatives of Super Regio, and the futsal league. Additionally, Superbet organized a contest via social media to raise awareness about the fight against breast cancer. As if that wasn’t enough, pink LED bands appeared at the match, and the players of GKS Katowice wore pink armbands.

The center of Superbet’s Pink October campaign was in Katowice. During the match of the GKS Katowice women’s team against Górnik Łęczna, the first edition of Pink October by Superbet took place. For every goal scored by the Katowice players, the bookmaker donated 1000 złoty to the Oko w Oko z Rakiem Foundation. The ladies won 2-0, so the calculation was simple – two thousand złoty went to the foundation’s account.

Additionally, before the match, fans could meet with representatives of the foundation, who had all the necessary information about breast cancer prevention.

But that wasn’t the end, as the GieKSa players invited their club colleagues to compete and challenged them, which they gladly accepted. This time, the men’s goals in the match against Śląsk were valued by Superbet at 1000 złoty. Unfortunately, the GKS Katowice players did not fulfill the task, as they did not score a single goal, but Superbet took the initiative and added 4000 złoty for the 4 points scored in the two teams’ matches, to settle this bet and transferred an additional four thousand złoty to the Oko w Oko z Rakiem Foundation’s account.

‘We hope that we managed to persuade a few women to get tested, which can save lives,’ concludes Katarzyna Gawlik.”

Superbet generously supports Stadiums Without Barriers

Another weekend of the “Stadiums Without Barriers” campaign and another thousands of zlotys, thanks to the involvement of fans and the Superbet brand, will go to Disabled Supporters’ Clubs. After the great success of the event in Zabrze, where before the international break, fans flocked to a special dart zone to raise money for fans with disabilities, it was time for more stadiums. This time, the special zone visited Katowice and Tychy.

The rules of the campaign were simple and attractive for sports fans – just approach the dartboard in the special Superbet zone located during the home matches of GieKSa and GKS Tychy and show your dart skills. The more accurate the throws, the more funds Superbet donate to the activation of fans with disabilities, associated with the Disabled Supporters’ Club of GKS Katowice and the same entity supporting GKS Tychy. Each point on the dartboard equaled one zloty in the pool.

On Friday, the special dart zone visited Katowice during the GieKSa match against Widzew Łódź. The Katowice audience, enjoying their return to the elite after a long break, eagerly joined in helping people with disabilities, flocking to try their hand at dart throwing. It was no different on Monday in Tychy, during the derby clash between GKS and Ruch Chorzów. Everyone was united not only by the desire to loudly support their favorites but also by the common goal of doing good.

Fans of all three clubs (including the earlier visit to Zabrze at the Górnik stadium) impressed not only with their involvement and the number of people who showed up in the Superbet zone. They also demonstrated that they are familiar with dart games and have top-notch hand-eye coordination. Thanks to them, Superbet donated a total of 20,000 zlotys to the stadium activation of fans with disabilities, joining the nationwide “Stadiums Without Barriers” campaign.

“Football is a beautiful sport, also because of its inclusiveness. There is no place for any barriers in football. Increasingly modern infrastructure helps ensure that fans with disabilities can also enjoy the sport. Thanks to the involvement of fans in our special dart zones, Disabled Supporters’ Clubs received additional funds for statutory purposes. And what makes us happiest is that it is really one group of fans helping another. It is an honor for us to be able to support this financially,” emphasizes Łukasz Seweryniak, general manager of Superbet Poland.
